    Sr. Financial Analyst

    • Job Type: Full-Time

    Job Description:

     

    The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial strategy support, acting as a strategic business analyst to Management, working in collaboration with the Accounting, Advancement, and Programs teams. As a critical support to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst will assist in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities, leading to continuing financial sustainability, cost recovery strategies, and future insights. This position manages tight deadlines and a multitude of activities including budget proposal preparation, financial reporting and analysis, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. This position provides regular support to other Finance-related functions, such as the month-end close process.

    • Serves as senior advisor to program managers and directors developing program level financial strategies.
    • Assists in the management and coordination of the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes across all functions and departments through appropriate coordination, education, reporting and analysis.
    • Assists in the creation and management of financial reports and dashboards in Workday and Adaptive Planning.
    • Assists in the management of software related analysis and financial records to ensure any operational updates are properly reflected in the forecasting system and analysis.
    • Assists in the preparation, compilation, analysis, and communication of information for financial reporting and analysis including monthly financial package for management reviews.
    • Manages the costing allocation process in Workday and Adaptive Planning throughout the year.
    • Collaborates with the programmatic departments to develop financially sound, effective, and efficient budgets for contracts and proposals.
    • Performs financial analysis and creates financial models to assist departments/programs and management in decision making, planning, and staffing.
    • Potentially supervises junior staff providing operational level support of activities (i.e., forecast updates, budget proposal reviews).
    • Assists with the annual audit process.
    • Protects sensitive information with proper precautions
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training for relevant certifications.
    • Builds and cultivates relationships internally and externally where appropriate, acts as organizational brand ambassador as needed and provides business development support and input where there is opportunity.

    Requirements:

    • Proven analytic capabilities, evidenced through prior development of financial models and frameworks
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a strong customer service focus is required
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required
    • Knowledge of an integrated accounting system is required

    Sr. Financial Analyst

    Job Description

     

    The Sr Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with financial planning, control and budgeting and to ensure compliance with all accounting policies, procedures and obligations as they are related to FP&A. The ideal candidate will be flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. You will have the ability to think strategically, drive for results and manage within a matrix structure. You must have both strong written and verbal communication skills, operate efficiently within a team atmosphere and able to be able to present comfortably to all levels of management. Critical that this individual possesses the ability to drive process improvements with a positive and collaborative spirit.

    • Finance support for the Sales & Marketing organization, covering marketing project and staffing spend. This includes monthly close related duties, journal entries, audit support, forecast updates, and owning the annual budget development for the marketing group.
    • Responsible for creation of the quarterly margin reports.
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis to provide explanations for current margin trends, variations, etc.
    • Conduct monthly reviews of the project spend, ensuring that forecasts are accurate (driving accurate accrual accounting), and that expenses are classified properly, driving accurate P & L reporting as well as the most efficient use of funds
    • Work closely with teams to update Marketing and Cost Planning tools.
    • Be a key player in the FP&A team to create, update and consolidate the P&L/Bal Sheet templates for the Annual Operating Plan.
    • Prepare monthly Scorecard for the Month end Controllers call.
    • Maintain web-based marketing tool that allows marketing teams to make real time updates to marketing forecasts.
    • Be the key contact for the marketing group and provide support on D2C pricing updates and all other ad-hoc analyses. 

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 Years of experience in a similar position.
    • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in the following areas:
      • Finance Activities
      • US Accounting and Financial reporting systems.
      • Budget development and control.
      • BS in Finance/Accounting (MBA and/or CPA preferred).

    Technical Accounting Manager

    We are seeking for a Technical Accounting Manager to join a fast growing company in San Diego. They are looking for qualified, CPA-certified candidates. As a member of this company's accounting team, the Technical Accounting Manager will play a key role in developing, enhancing and/or maintaining the company's financial reporting processes, SOX compliance processes, equity administration and reporting, and technical accounting assessments. This role will participate in the financial statement close, be a point of contact with internal and external audit functions and lead technical accounting assessments and documentation.
